The Benefits of a Globalized Perspective in the Classroom The paper I wrote highlights some of the really great results that can come from a globalized classroom. These included results such as; students who are prepared to participate in out rapidly growing society. The world is becoming smaller and smaller thanks to technology. Our students will need the skills to communicate effectively with people not only in their local or national sphere, but also on a global front as well. I chose to present this at the conference to relay the idea that we as teachings and communicators will need to be thinking forward to the future and help prepare our students for it. Not only will it be personally and culturally beneficial, being global thinkers will cause them to be much more of an asset in the workforce.

I chose to work with this topic because I hope to include many global and international perspectives in my classroom. I want to show my student just how big the world truly is. I would like for my classroom to include different primary sources, not only documents, but pictures and guest speakers as well. I think that with a little extra planning we could really immerse our students into the cultures we are teaching about. Another important aspect of a globalized classroom culture is knowing and appreciating perspectives than those in our own culture. There is a great amount of clarity to be gained from looking at History and even Language through the eye of another culture. This is why I hope to have a globalized perspective in so important inside the classroom.
